Royal Caribbean International has made a huge announcement this morning in regards to their Project Sunshine.
Royal Caribbean International's announcement this morning is for two new ships being built under the Project Sunshine. The newest ships are called Quantum of the Seas and the Anthem of the Seas, and they're going to be some of the most innovative ships in the cruise industry, and are designed to WOW.
You're probably wondering how do they come up with the names of the ships.Well this is what Adam Goldstein, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International had to say about this process: "
Selecting the name of a new ship is an interesting process. It’s even
more interesting when we’re developing a new ship class. We worked with
a naming consultant who provided several different avenues to explore.
We looked at names that were categorized as experiential names,
cosmopolitan names, leading edge names and more. But with Quantum, we
felt that the tone fit what we were seeking."
"Quantum of the Seas is a name that everyone on our Project
Sunshine Steering Committee immediately liked. We voted on paper when
selecting the names and the results were pretty much unanimous. We all
gravitated to the same two names."
There aren't anymore details released by Royal Caribbean International beyond what I have provided you with here. The only thing other piece of information that is currently released is that Quantum of the Seas will be sailing late 2014 (speculation is for Fall of 2014), and Anthem of the Seas will sail in 2015 (current speculations is for Spring 2015).
I'm extremely intrigued by this announcement today, so you can bet I will be keeping a close eye on this project. I will provide you with more details once I have it. For now I will leave you with this picture:
